4 Amazing Things That Happened This Summer

I’ve noticed in the blogging world, at the end of the year there are lots of posts talking about all the good things that happened during the year. However, I’ve decided that once a year simply isn’t enough and I would like to start talking about all the good things happening throughout the year at the end of each season. This way, it can allow me to reflect upon the previous season, but also reinforce the idea that good things do happen very often. This summer was a very busy one with exams, work and the summer holidays- so here’s what was good about my summer!

Running for head girl

In June, I was shocked to discover that I was nominated to run for Head Girl at my school. This is a very high position within the school that allows you to help teachers make it a better place and just to give back which is something I’ve always wanted to do for the school. For a whole week, I had to give a speech in front of the school (250 people PER DAY!!) as to why I should be head girl. Although I was CRAZY nervous, the experience really boosted my confidence within myself, and landed me the role of Assistant Head Girl which I’m so excited to take on when returning to school this year!

Working A LOT more!

As I have had six weeks off this summer, this has given me the opportunity to work A LOT more! I spent two weeks this summer working at The Blogger Programme which gave me such an insight into the blogging world, and made me fall in love with it more! I also worked loads at my part time job, so when payday came I was THRILLED! This summer I’ve been trained to use the tills and am also barista trained so I can make allllll the coffees (and can do cute love hearts on top on a good day haha!)

AS Results

Early this summer I also finished my EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AS exams for my A Levels. I completed exams for ICT, Psychology and English Literature which I revised for so much. They were really challenging, but all the revision paid off as I got my results a few weeks ago and managed to get ABB!! It’s honestly more than I could have ever hoped for and has really inspired me for my final year of A Levels!

Big Things For ThoughtfulTash

This Summer was also the time where I decided to take the leap and become self-hosted! After having this lil’ blog for almost two years now, I thought that it’s about time I made my blog MINE! I am so pleased with the way it looks and honestly cannot thank you all enough for all the love and support of the change! I’m enjoying blogging more than ever and it’s all thanks to you guys! I was also short listed as best 16-19 Blogger in the Teen’s Blogger Awards which I was SHOOK by, like WHAT why me?! This Summer has really shown me that my blog is capable of good things and that for some crazy reason, people find what I have to say interesting haha?!

This Summer has been one of my favourites ever, although I didn’t jet off to an island or anything, it’s been a season where I’ve grown a lot as a person and am heading to a far more happier place. I can’t wait to see what Autumn has in store!

What’s happened to you this Summer?

Your summer sounds amazing, also, major congrats on the AS results!! This summer I’ve done so much fun stuff, my friends and I went to the Brighton Pride festival. I did okay in my end of year 10 mocks/exams, I did pretty bad on my weaker subjects (cough cough maths chemistry and physics) but managed to get an 8 in my English lit and a 7 in my English language! I’m so happy about that as they’re my favourite subjects. I also got an 8 in biology, which was so great for me. I was nominated for and got the teen blogger award for best blogger 13-15 which was so insane and I never imagined that happening ever! All in all this summer has been so good, and I hope that the school year ahead of me will be just as good 🙂 xx
