Not Your Average Summer Bucket List

IT’S SUMMERTIME!! Well…it’s Summertime for me cause ya gal has FINALLY finished her horrible A Levels which literally CONSUMED my life for the past few months! I’m well aware (and honestly FEEL for you) that some of you are still at school or work, and don’t start summer until the middle of July. However, I still wanted to start emitting the summer vibes here on my blog to help those who are on summer break, but also get those of you who still have a little bit to go excited!

Summer break is amazingly LOOOONG. I practically have almost THREE MONTHS off before I’m due to start university, and I know for others it can last up to six or eight weeks! It’s a lovely amount of time, but I am for sure guilty of perhaps wasting it over the past few years- don’t get me wrong, its not like I didn’t enjoy binge-watching multiple tv shows over the past few years, but summer is a time where we are free and the weather is BANGING, so why not make the most of it?

Therefore, I decided to come up with a Summer Bucket List. Yes, I know it’s terribly cliche and it will not all be completed, but I’m not planning on that. I wanted to share some ideas on how to spend your summer when you find yourself at a bit of a loose end, or just want to DO SOMETHING. The reason why I decided to name this ‘Not Your Average Summer Bucket List’ as yes, it probably does include some typical and BASIC activities, but I really tried to throw in some unique ideas as well as free/affordable ones (cause I’m POOR due to uni fees whoop!).

  1. Go on a road trip (or public transport trip? looool)
  2. Watch the sunset
  3. Watch the sunrise
  4. Go stargazing
  5. Do an allnighter
  6. Have a movie marathon
  7. Go strawberry picking
  8. Visit a museum or gallery
  9. Get a tan (or like me, attempt to and get burnt in the process)
  10. Have a picnic
  11. Have a BBQ
  12. Go to a bonfire
  13. Spend a day being a tourist in your own city
  14. Go thrifting/charity shopping
  15. Have a huge clear out- donate/sell things you no longer want
  16. Read a book (or in my case 100437 books!)
  17. Treat yourself
  18. Go outside your comfort zone
  19. Do some baking
  20. Take a trip to the beach
  21. Do some volunteering
  22. Get a job
  23. Go to a concert/festival/gig
  24. Spend some time alone and unwind
  25. Workout more (lol I DEFFO need to do this!)
  26. Create a summer playlist
  27. Change your hair
  28. Reconnect with an old friend
  29. Spend 24 hours without your phone
  30. Go to a farmers market
  31. Roast marshmallows by the fire
  32. Have a water fight
  33. Make some summer drinks- smoothies, milkshakes, cocktails
  34. Take a nap (you deserve it!)
  35. Switch up your fashion
  36. Go swimming
  37. Go on a boat
  38. DIY/tie-dye your old clothes
  39. Do a photoshoot with your friends, alone or even with your dog!
  40. Do karaoke
  41. Set some goals for the rest of the year
  42. See a Broadway musical
  43. Pay a strangers bill (through a drive-thru etc)
  44. Dance in the rain
  45. Throw a party
  46. Throw a surprise party for someone special
  47. Do some random acts of kindness
  48. Get/give a makeover
  49. Fly a kite
  50. Take lots of photos and create a summer scrapbook
  51. Just do the things you love!

Those are just 51 ideas I have which can make your summer a slight step up from just watching youtube videos and Netflix shows (though I will still be doing both!). There are hundreds of other things you can do this summer, its a time of infinite possibilities and I’d love to hear what you all are planning to do this Summer!

I hope you all have THE BEST Summer ever!

I actually love reading summer bucket list posts and they get me SO excited. You definitely need to relax after A Levels and I think doing the things on the list are quite affordable but so fun! I went round one of my friends houses for her birthday on Monday and we had a bbq, fire pit and star gazed and it was just so great but so simple (we even saw a shooting star)! I hope you have the best summer because you definitely deserve it xx

Great post – these are all perfect summer activities! I did quite a few of them myself (thrift shopping, going to a farmers market, and seeing Wicked on Broadway were my highlights!). 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
