The first ever eyeshadow palette I heard of was the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I vividly remember it taking the internet by storm- and EVERYONE was talking about it and twelve-year-old me giggling at the name! However, a little while ago, Urban Decay announced that they are discontinuing the first ever Naked Palette which pushed me to start using mine more! I never owned the first palette so I cannot join in the Internet’s outrage of losing the well-loved palette. BUT, for my birthday last year, I was SUPER lucky to receive the Naked 3 Palette from my besties, a palette I had been lusting over for agessss, but could never bring myself to buy it!
As it took me SO LONG to get my hands on a Naked palette after constantly debating whether I should buy it, I thought that I would compose a lil’ review for you all and give my honest opinion on the palette. That way, it might give you the little push you need to splash the cash and buy it or invest in a different palette!
THE PRICE: At the pricey sum of £39.50, this is most definitely my most expensive palette if not PRODUCT in my whole makeup collection. The price is the primary reason for not getting this sooner as I know there are SO MANY fab eyeshadow palettes out there. However, for reasons that will be explained further in the post, I DO believe that the palette is worth the price. Life is short, so I think sometimes you should just TREAT YO SELF! (But, even after this blog post you still don’t think the price is worth it which I do completely understand, Makeup Revolution do a FAB dupe of this palette that is only £4 which I actually used for years before deciding to get this one!)
THE SHADE RANGE: I do believe that this is one of my fave palettes because the shade range is BEAUTIFUL. The palate is full of pinky and taupe shades which are my personal faves to use as they look soooooo pretty and perfect for day or night. What I do truly love is that I know I will use every single shade in this palette (I mean, you wouldn’t want to waste any cause of the price, right?!), so I know I will get my use out of it. The shades are a mix of mattes, shimmers and glitters so you can make a subtle day look or go to town will all the glitter.
THE QUALITY: To keep it short- you are ultimately getting what you are paying for. The shades are so pigmented, yet super easy to blend out so you can build up to your desired look, rather than applying shadow and panic-blending because it’s too harsh!!
THE PACKAGING: The packaging, like all Urban Decay products, is beauttttt. Keeping with the theme of the gorgeous shadows, the case is a rose gold shade with a matching, double-ended brush WHICH IS ACTUALLY GOOD. It is the bane of my life getting those awful, spongy eyeshadow brushes in palettes so this is such a fab product to bring while travelling as it is one less brush to bring! There is also a HUGE mirror opposite the shadows, making it great to apply on the go.
THE VERDICT: I totally think this palette is worth it- I genuinely get compliments every time I use it cause the colours are just too dam pretty. As a student (and a generally stingy gal who just wants to SAVE money lol), it is a lil’ pricey but I think a really good investment- this will stay in my makeup collection until I’ve hit pan on them all, which by the looks of things won’t be too long from now!
